Dear District 76 Families and Staff,
This past Friday, the Illinois State Board of Education released the 2026 Illinois School Report Card, and we are proud to share the results for Diamond Lake School District 76.
Our schools received the following official designations:
• Diamond Lake School: Commendable
• West Oak Intermediate School: Commendable
• West Oak Middle School: Approaching Exemplary
These designations reflect much more than academic achievement alone. Illinois’ accountability system considers a broad picture of school success, including student growth and proficiency, attendance, 5Essentials Survey feedback, English Learner progress, and other important indicators of school quality and climate.
This year’s results highlight several accomplishments worth celebrating across District 76.
Reading Proficiency
District 76 saw an impressive 16% overall increase in reading proficiency, demonstrating meaningful progress in student achievement across our schools.
Reading Growth
Our students demonstrated strong academic growth in reading, with progress significantly outpacing the state average.
English Learner Progress
Our English Learners achieved record setting progress in English language proficiency, along with strong results on the ACCESS assessment.
These accomplishments represent more than numbers on a state report. They reflect the dedication of our students, the commitment of our teachers and staff, and the continued partnership of our families and community.
We are incredibly proud of the progress taking place throughout District 76 and remain committed to building on this momentum as we continue to Embrace, Empower, and Excel, Each Child, Each Day.
